Professional Experience
Principal Test Capability Enginner
From July 2022 at Ceres Power Ltd, Horsham, UKTechnical lead for the strategy and delivery of bespoke test systems to validate and de-risk next-generation SOFC and SOEC technologies.
- Led the end-to-end delivery of a flagship £1.4M pressurised SOEC test system, managing a cross-functional team of ~85 personnel to deliver the project from concept to commissioning in an accelerated 18-month timeframe.
- Defined the technical roadmap and system architecture for the new test capability, securing senior stakeholder buy-in and aligning the project with the company's long-term technology goals.
- Directed the resolution of critical system integration challenges between gas delivery, thermal management, and control systems, ensuring the platform met stringent performance requirements and successfully passed all HAZOP safety reviews.
- Spearheaded a concurrent engineering programme, improving coordination between mechanical, electrical, software, and build teams to enhance visibility and accelerate project delivery.
- Managed key external suppliers for critical long-lead components, mitigating supply chain risks to maintain the aggressive project timeline.
- Co-invented a novel emergency depressurisation system for the platform, resulting in a pending patent application for the innovative design.
Senior Engineer / Project Lead
From September 2013 to July 2022 at Ricardo UK LTd, Shoreham-by-Sea, UKProgressed through a series of roles with increasing responsibility, leading a variety of complex powertrain, functional safety, and R&D projects for major automotive OEMs.
- Led the successful delivery of a portfolio of powertrain test projects, from winning work through proposal writing to managing project execution and final reporting.
- Acted as 48V system lead on the PaREGEn EU research project, managing hardware/software integration and reporting progress within a multi-national consortium.
- Managed the V&V testing for a critical torque-estimation functional safety programme, delivering the project on a challenging time and budget by implementing new progress tracking tools.
- Provided overseas customer support in India for an off-highway engine development programme; the customer CEO stated, “We have achieved more in the past 6 days than we had in the last 6 months”.
- Successfully completed the graduate scheme, including managing a £1.2M facility construction project and developing new vehicle simulation control strategies that were adopted company wide.
